Paws for a Cause

A good friend of mine, known to Finn as Aunty A, is very involved in our local American Cancer Society chapter's Relay for Life work, and the other day she called us up and told us to come down to our favorite park because they were doing a Paws for a Cause fundraiser! We had never been to one and so off we went! Even though we couldn't get there until the gathering was beginning to wind down, A saved Finn a goody bag and decked her out in purple Paws for a Cause gear!

The dogs walk for much the same reasons as people do in the Relays for Life-- to raise awareness and money for cancer research and support. Often they are not allowed on the private tracks where the relays are held, so organizers created this little sub set, Paws for a Cause, for them! It's a really cool idea. Hopefully we will get to participate even more! I will keep you posted :)

Here is Finn and me, (my hat about to fall off) showing off her scarf! She looks good in purple:

And here she is playing on the beach afterward! I haven't put her in the shirt  yet, but you can bet I will soon! hehe

I love this idea of donating some time and effort, and having fun (and good socialization practice for Finn!) at the same time, for a good cause. I think I would like to do more of it with her. Hopefully we can do more Paws walks, but I know there are lots of opportunities out there. Anyone have any ideas?

Hope you are all having a great weekend!! <3

How fun :) We have something like that here, but it's called "Bark for Life". I am so excited for the event this summer, it was a blast last year!

I'm glad Kelly left a comment because I remember her and Gibson doing something to help some worthy cause last year. I think it is neat to get dogs involved like this too. Finn looks so cute in her scarf! I'm not good at coming up with ideas like this, but I'm hopeful you or others can put together events to help those afflicted by life threatening diseases or sicknesses

I too hope you have a great weekend!
